Five New Nisa Extra Stores To Open
23/11/2009
Nisa-Today’s member the Mills Group is
currently in the process of opening five brand new Nisa Extra stores. The Group
opened its first supermarket sized store in Haxby, near
York, in November. All of the five stores which are being converted into Nisa
Extra’s were formally Somerfield stores and the Mills Group bought them from
the Co-op during the summer.
The remaining stores will open throughout the month at
various locations in Whitby, Hetton – Le – Hole, Ossett and Market Warsop. The
store sizes range from 6,000 sq.ft and 10,500 sq.ft and have all had a full
refit to reflect the Nisa contemporary design.
John Heagney, Nisa-Today’s Group Symbol director,
commented: “The Nisa Extra stores look fantastic and it is in an ideal location
for a store of its size. The external graphics of the store are bright and bold
and are extremely eye-catching to customers.”
Nigel Mills, managing director of the
Mills Group, commented, “We are thrilled with the look of the new Nisa Extra
store and are looking forward to opening the remaining four supermarkets. The
stores offer a full range of produce, meat and poultry, bread and other ambient
groceries and focus heavily on local products. There is a wide range of
products that we think our customers will be thrilled with, that are now
available in their local Nisa Extra supermarket.”
