Long standing Nisa-Today’s member Dike & Son recently opened a brand new 16,500 sq ft Nisa Extra store in Stalbridge, Dorset which was designed specifically to blend in to its rural location.

The store has a major emphasis on fresh food, maximising the consumer trend towards healthy eating, including a fresh fish counter, a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, butchery, delicatessen counter and a hot food-to-go counter. The store also has an instore café which sells a variety of hot beverages, sandwiches and light snacks.

The store was originally planned by the late William Dike and boasts graphics that were designed specifically to mirror the rural position of the store. The exterior store is glass fronted and filled with country images of a field in summer, with animals, green grass and clear blue sky. The new store, which has been designed under the Nisa-Today’s ‘co-branded’ fascia format, enables Dike and Son to retain its traditional heritage - which dates back over one hundred years - whilst benefiting from the support of a national brand.

John Heagney, Nisa Group Symbol director said: “We have worked with Dike’s to ensure the design sensitively fits within its surroundings – in this case the rural countryside of Stalbridge. It is a fitting tribute to the retailing vision of William Dike and the ability of his son, Andrew, to bring this vision into reality. The new store is very impressive and is an asset to the area.”
