Today’s exceeds expectations

The Today’s Group is continuing to grow and exceed expectations across its grocery, impulse and licensed categories reporting an overall performance of +2.5% year-on-year.
Today’s Group trading director, Nick Barker stated that the group’s grocery category continued to be its leading performer at +11.6%, with +31.1% across general grocery, +23.6% in tea and +14.5% for breakfast cereals.
The group recorded strong non-food sales with household laundry at +13.46%, petcare at +2% and paper at +7%. In addition, the impulse category traded very well at +8.7% and within licensed, cider was at +13% with spirits rising +14.2%.
Nick Barker commented, “Trading figures for this quarter (1st July – 31st September 2007) are again testament to the high level of member and supplier support. The Group’s increasing membership and recruitment drive, boosted by its leading Symbol Group package and trading teams, will ensure it will enter 2008 very strongly.“
