Today's Caters for Frozen Foodservice
21/04/2008

The Today’s Group has recently secured the membership of Caterforce, of Macclesfield, Cheshire. Caterforce comprises seven leading foodservice wholesalers, specialising in chilled and frozen foods, of which two were already members of the group.
The move sees the remaining five members of Caterforce joining the Today’s Group, meaning that along with Fairway Foods it now has most of the frozen foodservice specialists in the UK within its membership.
The Caterforce membership delivers to pubs, restaurants, hotels and other independent foodservice operators throughout the UK. With frozen, chilled and ambient products, Caterforce currently offer customers extensive ranges of branded lines as well as offerings under its own label, Caterforce Cuisine.
With a turnover in the region of £180million, Caterforce is a massive boost for the growing foodservice business in the Today’s Group. Previously the group had held the membership of Pioneer Foodservice and Pilgrim Foodservice, both of Caterforce, but the new move sees Philip Dennis Foodservice, Hunts Foodservice, Lynas Foodservice, JB Foods and KFF Foodservice also join bringing their accumulative frozen foodservice expertise to the Today’s Group.
“This is great news for the Today’s Group, and a very exciting move,” said Rodney Hunt, managing director of the Today’s Group. “We’ve had a very good relationship with Caterforce having previously worked with Pioneer and Pilgrim, but to have the whole group come onboard means we can now work even more closely together.”
“It is my wish that a positive and rewarding relationship between the two groups will now flourish” commented Allen Watts, Executive Director of Caterforce, adding that “the substantial growth of both ambient and chilled ranges across the Caterforce group now means that it is the right time for all the Members to join the Today’s Group.”
