16/07/2008

On Tuesday 15th July Nisa-Today’s original founders Dudley Ramsden and Peter Garvin officially opened the group’s new offices in North Lincolnshire with its non-executive chairman, Mark Pullen, chief executive officer, Neil Turton and chief financial officer, John Schofield
The 28,500 sq ft new offices - named ‘The Member Support Centre’ in recognition of the group’s member-owned, mutual status - represent a £3.75m investment. They are based adjacent to the site of Nisa-Today’s 625,000 sq ft ambient warehouse on Normanby Enterprise Park which opened in October 2005 and house its 195 employees, who were previously spread across two leased offices on the same Industrial Estate, having outgrown the group’s first office space in 1989.
Neil Turton commented, “Not only will the new offices enhance our service for members and save considerable costs, but they will also create a better working environment for our staff. They are a key element in our plans for the future and represent our confidence in the sector as a whole.”
Nisa-Today’s first central office, grocery central warehouse and distribution facility on Foxhills Industrial Estate, was officially opened by HRH Princess Anne on 27th November 1990. Its 625,000 sq ft ambient warehouse was officially opened on Friday 17th March 2006, by the then Trade and Industry Secretary - now Health Secretary - the Rt Hon Alan Johnson MP.
