Nisa Today's Celebrates Award Winners

Nisa-Today’s recently held its annual National Exhibition for independent retailers and wholesalers at Stoneleigh. During the event Nisa-Today’s members won a number of accolades at the Member and Supplier Awards held at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, on the evenings of the exhibition.
The awards, which were spread across two evenings, were to acknowledge companies that had succeeded in achieving excellence in the independent retail and wholesale sector.
Deserved winners in the wholesale awards, which were presented by former England cricketer Alec Stewart, included Dhamecha Foods Ltd, which won Best Cash & Carry, J W Filshill Ltd picked up Best Delivered Wholesaler, HT & Co (Drinks) Ltd collected the award for Best Specialist Wholesaler and Sucha Singh of Thames Cash and Carry Ltd was presented with the Life President Award.
Awards were also presented to the best suppliers with Unilever UK Foods picking up the Best Grocery Supplier award, GlaxoSmithKline Nutritional Healthcare Ltd awarded for being Best Impulse Supplier and Best Non-Food Supplier awarded to GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd. Robert McBride’s Ltd claimed Best Foodservice Supplier, while Diageo GB received the accolade of Best Licensed Supplier and Jenks Sales Brokers was recognised as Best Support Supplier.
On the evening of the retail awards, the winners consisted of Wheatland Services Ltd, Ford, for the best store under 3,000sq.ft. Jash Ltd of Carshalton picked up the award for the store voted outstanding in the 3,000 – 8,000sq.ft. category and finally Johnson’s Retail Ltd’s new Pentwyn store came in first place for the store over 8,000sq.ft. In addition, Dike & Son Ltd of Stalbridge collected the Symbol Group award and Roger Bowkett received the Life President Award.
There was again recognition for the best suppliers with H J Heinz UK picking up the Best Grocery Supplier award, Petty Wood & Co Ltd awarded for being Best Specialist Supplier and the award for Best Temperature Controlled Supplier going to McCain Foods (GB) Ltd. Constellation Europe Ltd received the accolade of Best Licensed Supplier. Coca Cola Enterprises Ltd was pronounced All Category Champion Supplier and United Biscuits UK won the Best Own Brand category. The retail awards were presented by former England Rugby Union star Austin Healey.
Nisa-Today’s chief executive officer, Neil Turton stated: “I would like to offer my congratulations to all of the winners. These awards are testament to the hard work and dedication of all those involved with Nisa-Today’s.”
