Nisa-Today’s Drives Category Health Through Groundbreaking New Initiative
06/06/2008

Next week, 16th June, Nisa-Today’s will launch a sophisticated new member IT initiative, Category Health Check, that identifies any stock gaps in its members’ ranges – reviewed on an individual store basis – through comparison with the most popular products purchased by consumers in the UK. An email will then be sent automatically to the member’s inbox advising them of the missing products, with a direct link to an ordering facility.
Category Health Check has been launched to ensure the group’s members provide maximum consumer choice to drive sales. It measures Nisa-Today’s members’ individual product purchasing patterns through its Central Distribution arm and reviews them against the top 20 purchased lines by category, based on consumer market research data. It is an evolution of Nisa-Today’s highly successful 'Email Deals' system which it launched in October 2007, to provide members with up-to-the-minute information on deals and promotions proactively, as they happen, driving sales volume whilst also increasing efficiencies through the supply chain.
The Category Health Check initiative will be implemented as a rolling programme with three emails - individually encrypted to each member’s store - circulated per month across three different categories. The first of these, commencing on the 16th June, will be 'Breakfast Cereals', which will have the added incentive of offering members a 30% discount on all products they order that are missing from their current range.
John Sharpe, Nisa-Today’s managing director of Central Distribution Trading & Logistics commented, "This is an excellent scheme that will help extend our members’ knowledge of the marketplace, maximise sales potential and provide financial rewards. It also draws from the expertise of our category management team by linking to our online planograms, which members can access for specific product categories they wish to expand through Category Health Check. It is a complete package for the membership and we are confident that it will be a great success."
